I care about mother earth and I care about you
My Pledge
- I donate 5% of all profits to the Bee Foundation. Each painting contains a significant amount of natural beeswax, and I want to honor the bees for their contribution while supporting them in every way I can.
- Currently, the beeswax I use is not yet sourced from local beekeepers, as finding suppliers who care deeply for the bees and can meet my needs is challenging. I am constantly on the look-out for suppliers who can offer more transparency. If you have any recommendations, I would be grateful to hear from you.
- The wooden float frames for my works are handmade by my partner and are of high quality. I select the wood from leftover batches at a local sawmill, sometimes including beautiful hardwood. The wood is FSC-certified, but I cannot guarantee it is 100% responsibly sourced. My goal is to establish a consistent supply of locally and ethically sourced wood in the future.
- Beeswax paintings can last for thousands of years, far longer than works created with other techniques. I strive to create high-quality pieces that can be enjoyed for generations, but encaustic is a complex technique with many technical questions still to explore. I pledge to continue learning and developing my practice to bring my craft to the highest possible level.
