Baubo Goddess
Inspired by the goddess Baubo, this totem reflects my personal and unique vision of her form and energy. Baubo, known as a symbol of joy, protection, empowerment, and feminine wisdom, is for me personally one of the most powerful archetypes I have encountered, yet she remains largely overlooked. This is why I chose to bring her to life through the creative practice of jewellery design. For me, jewellery is a form of self-expression, and it brings me joy to imagine Baubo adorning the necks of inspiring women.

I also create clay totems inspired by Baubo, for those who may not wear jewellery but still wish to connect with this ancient goddess in their own way. Each totem is handmade, so slight variations in shape and size make every piece unique.

About the making of the Baubo Pendant
In some versions of her myth, Baubo has a mouth on her belly above the vulva. In the most meaningful telling, however, it is the vulva itself that speak. Wisdom, humor, and power flowing directly from the source of life.
This is why I created my own Baubo figurine: her vulva is also her mouth, her breasts gaze playfully at the world, and she speaks, laughs, and radiates wisdom from her center of creation. To this day, I have found no other depiction that represents this so literally and uniquely.
I sculpted Baubo in clay, then carefully recreated her in 3D with attention to every detail, before casting her using a 3D-printed mold. The pendants are available in 925 sterling silver* and 18k gold plated brass*. Over time, the gold-plated brass will develop a subtle patina, deepening its character and charm.
*The metal used for these pendants comes from a supplier who is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council. I am actively exploring ways to collaborate with companies that meet my standards and offer even more ethical and responsible sourcing. This is an ongoing journey, and I thank you for your understanding.
